The town of Nueva Ameyalco belongs to the municipality of Lerma (State of Estado de México). There are 1,240 inhabitants and it is 2,568 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Metepec is 20 minutes away by car (16 km). In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #33 of the ranking.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Colonia Guadalupe la Ciénega. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2012.
