The town of Torres de la Libertad belongs to the municipality of Santiago Pinotepa Nacional (State of Oaxaca). There are 296 inhabitants and it is 260 meters altitude. It is the most populated town in the position #18 of the whole municipality.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Colonia de la Libertad. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
