The town of Barrio de Santa María (State of Mexico) belongs to the municipality of Toluca. There are 940 inhabitants and it is 2,643 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Metepec is 26 minutes away by car (23 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #50 in terms of number of inhabitants.
The locality was formerly known as Cerro del Perico, but changed its name a few years ago. The community's inhabitants joined those of San Pablo Autopan in the year 2015. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
