The town of Cerritos (Hidalgo) belongs to the municipality of Huasca de Ocampo. There are 310 inhabitants and it is 2,087 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Huasca de Ocampo is 16 minutes away by car (11 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #17 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Los Cerritos, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.

The town of Cerritos is located at 8.0 kilometers from Río Seco Puente de Doria, which is the most populated locality in the municipality, in the Southwest direction.
