The town of El Zapote belongs to the municipality of José Azueta (State of Veracruz). There are 38 inhabitants and it is 10 meters altitude. It is the most populated town in the position #109 of the whole municipality.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Carmen Castro García. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2019.
