The town of El Naranjal belongs to the municipality of Palenque (State of Chiapas). There are 165 inhabitants and it is 61 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Palenque is 18 minutes away by car (14 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #136 in terms of number of inhabitants.
The locality was formerly known as Belisario DomÃnguez Norte 2da. Sección, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2015.
