The town of Las Peñas (Oaxaca) belongs to the municipality of Villa Sola de Vega. There are 65 inhabitants and it is 1,034 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Santa Catarina Juquila is 60 minutes away by car (54 km). It is the most populated town in the position #47 of the whole municipality.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Barrio las Peñas. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
