The town of Barrio de Shira belongs to the municipality of Ixtlahuaca (State of Estado de México). There are 114 inhabitants and it is 3,036 meters altitude. The Magical Town of El Oro de Hidalgo is 78 minutes away by car (52 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #59 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as Shira, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
