The town of Barrio de Santo Domingo Huereje belongs to the municipality of Ixtlahuaca (State of Estado de México). There are 520 inhabitants and it is 2,533 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Villa del carbón is 38 minutes away by car (36 km). It is the most populated town in the position #47 of the whole municipality.
The locality was formerly known as Santo Domingo Huereje, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
