The town of Zacoalpan belongs to the municipality of Ometepec (State of Guerrero). There are 5,412 inhabitants and it is 188 meters altitude. Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #2 in terms of number of inhabitants.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Zacualpan. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
