The town of San Manuel belongs to the municipality of Tizimín (State of Yucatán). The Magical Town of Espita is 48 minutes away by car (40 km). It is the most populated town in the position #106 of the whole municipality.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Tunpech. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2015.
