The town of San Agustín Poteje Centro belongs to the municipality of Almoloya de Juárez (State of Estado de México). There are 1,501 inhabitants and it is 2,761 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Metepec is 48 minutes away by car (38 km). It is the most populated town in the position #20 of the whole municipality.
The locality was formerly known as Potejé Centro, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
