The place of San Miguel is inside the municipality of Acatepec (in the State of Guerrero). There are 154 inhabitants. It is the most populated town in the position #69 of the whole municipality. San Miguel is at 2,110 meters of altitude.

The locality was formerly known as El Mesón, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
