It was formerly known as San Pedro (Barrio San Pedro Mimiapan).

The town of Barrio San Pedro (State of Mexico) belongs to the municipality of Xonacatlán. There are 856 inhabitants and it is 2,902 meters altitude. The Magical Town of Metepec is 55 minutes away by car (42 km). Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #11 in terms of number of inhabitants.

The locality was formerly known as San Pedro (Barrio San Pedro Mimiapan), but changed its name a few years ago. This town decided to disannex from San Miguel Mimiapan in the year 2010. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
