The town of Barrio de Shira is located in the Municipality of Ixtlahuaca (in the State of México). There are 114 inhabitants. Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #59 in terms of number of inhabitants. Barrio de Shira is at 3,036 meters of altitude.

The locality was formerly known as Shira, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
