The place of Ahuacatlán is inside the municipality of Cacahoatán (in the State of Chiapas). There are 1,900 inhabitants. In the list of the most populated towns of the whole municipality, it is the number #6 of the ranking. Ahuacatlán is at 670 meters of altitude.
The locality was formerly known as Huacatlán, but changed its name a few years ago. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2010.
