The town of San José is located in the Municipality of Tecate (in the State of Baja California). There are 27 inhabitants. It is the most populated town in the position #44 of the whole municipality. San José is at 605 meters of altitude.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Rancho San José. In the year 2010, the locality changed its name.
