This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Rancho Páramo. The Mexican authorities declared this village as uninhabited in 2020.

The town of Páramo is located at 33.5 kilometers from La Junta, which is the most populated locality in the municipality, in the East direction. In addition, it is located at 16.7 kilometers from Vicente Guerrero, which is the capital of the municipality, in the East direction.
