It was formerly known as Mah-Dzul.

The place of Masul is inside the municipality of Umán (in the State of Yucatán). There are 4 inhabitants. Of all the towns in the municipality, it occupies the number #73 in terms of number of inhabitants. Masul is at 5 meters of altitude.

This town has recently changed its name. It used to be known as Mah-Dzul. The inhabitants of this community decided to change its name in 2013.
